For Colored Girls

For Colored Girls was created in the year of 2020 when the pandemic was officially enounced to the American public. These paintings were created with the most vibrant colors and either a pallet knife or a variation of different paint brushes. I wanted to represent the vibrant culture of black women as well as the features usually unique to the black community.

In the year of 2020, my mother was also diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. That is what sparked the need to use the most vibrant color pallet I could to bring joy during a very dark time in my life and the life of those effected by the pandemic.
