In Her Own Words
My work is about how we see ourselves, and what it feels like to get there.

I paint Black women in ways that feel honest soft, and fully held. Not performance, but truth. There is a quietness in my work, a stillness that allows each subject to exist without needing to prove anything. That matters a lot to me.

I didn't always create from this place. I had to learn to name it. Put it front and center.

I didn't have to learn to take up space. I've always moved through the world with a kind of freedom, untouched by the need to shrink myself for anyone. I wasn't performing it but I wasn't naming it either. It was simply how I existed.

What changed was my awareness.
Over time, I began to recognize that what I carried naturally was powerful. Not loud or forced, but steady, grounded, and fully my own. As that understanding deepened, my work shifted. The images I chose to paint became more rooted, more assured, more at ease.

That clarity is what I paint from now.

My work reflects my identity, care, and the quiet power of being seen, not just by others, but by yourself. I want women to encounter these pieces and feel something familiar. To recognize themselves. To feel seen in a way that is both gentle and undeniable.

This isn't about becoming something or someone new. It is about recognizing what has always been there, and allowing it to exist, without question
