Artist, Mother, witness, I create from what has shaped me.

I’m Brianne Moore, a visual artist shaped by the spaces I’ve lived in and the roles I carry.

I’m an only child, raised by a single mother, and I learned early how to observe, how to read a room, how to find meaning in what wasn’t always said out loud. I was born in Kansas City, moved between Kansas City and Chicago, and eventually made my way to Texas. Each place left something with me, a way of seeing, a way of holding people, a sense of movement and return.

I’ve always been creative, but I wasn’t encouraged to pursue it. I was taught to choose what was practical, what made sense, what could sustain me. So for a long time, I created quietly, without calling it anything.

I came back to painting at 30.

I decided to take it seriously at 33.

Now, I create from a place that is both lived and chosen.

I am a wife.

I am a mother to two daughters.

And those roles do not sit outside of my work, they live inside of it.

My practice is guided by intuition, memory, and presence. I paint people, but more than that, I paint what it feels like to be shaped by them. The weight, the softness, the influence, the becoming.

Everything I create is rooted in connection, whether it’s named or simply felt.

This work is not separate from my life.

It is an extension of it.
